CARFAMA SPONSORS THE SIXTH EDITION OF THE NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASE SUPPORT RACE

As in previous years, Carfama sponsored the Neuromuscular Disease Support Race with the aim of raising funds for Asempa. The race took place on Saturday afternoon on Poniente beach in Gijón with excellent participation in all categories, covering various distances -from 150 metres up to 4 km- in which each runner made a €5 contribution.

The race aimed to raise funds and draw attention to chronic and progressive neuromuscular diseases which have a variable development and whose origin maybe genetic, hereditary or congenital. There are over one hundred varieties andthey are classified as rare diseases.

ASEMPA, a non-profit association that was founded in Gijón in the nineties, focuses on developing actions to achieve the highest quality of life for people affected by neuromuscular diseases, as well as their families and surrounding environments.
